SCOPE
The Comec FSV140 is a valve seat machine for large heavy duty cylinder heads. Compared with the FSV120, the FSV140 is built for larger cylinder heads: it accepts heads up to 1200 x 380 x 254 mm and machines valve seats from 14 to 76 mm in diameter, with 1100 mm of horizontal work head travel.
The touch screen control panel with the SMART AID system guides the operator step by step and automates the work cycle. The dual spindle feed system keeps the operator in direct control: a large front handwheel provides fast, accurate spindle travel, and a micrometric side knob provides fine downfeed.
The FSV140 spindle workhead is extremely sturdy and mounted on an air cushion for light, quick positioning from seat to seat. The spring-free tool holder mandrel holds the carbide pilot while moving from valve guide to valve guide, ensuring perfect centering. The spindle tilts up to ±15° in both directions for accurate machining of canted valve seats.
The 360° rollover fixture gives complete access to all sides of the cylinder head, with quick and highly rigid clamping. Levelling is simple with the fine adjustment knob and the electronic level with readout. The adjustable depth stop and the dial gauge ensure an exact depth of cut.
FSV140 key data: 80 mm spindle with ISO 30 taper, variable spindle speed from 30 to 500 RPM, 216 mm vertical spindle stroke, 510 mm maximum table-to-spindle distance, 1.5 kW motor, 6 bar air pressure and 1-phase 230 V / 50 Hz power supply. The machine weighs 1485 kg.
Standard equipment includes three insert tool holders, Cut2000, Cut2001 and Cut2002 (18 to 60 mm), a tool setting fixture, a built-in vacuum tester with pads, LED lighting, a swing arm tool storage cabinet and a removable chip tray.
